I bought Annika some rubber boots a few weeks ago. They were on clearance; all the stores were getting rid of their winter gear and were stocking flip-flops and white sneakers. We get rain at all times of the year here, and Annika's snow boots are a bit too warm now. Thus, she needed rubber boots. I was fortunate to find a pair her size at the mall. They were the last pair left of that design and her size. They are red with green strawberry leaf tops, green handles to pull them on with, and black seed spots. She loves them and wants to wear them all the time.
When did she get this big and become so opinionated? She already wants to have a say in what she wears, and it is difficult for me to change her mind. That's how she ends up wearing strawberry boots on warm sunny days, paired with shorts and t-shirts. Fortunately these strawberry boots are cute, and she gets a lot of compliments whenever we go out. I wonder if she will end up being one of those quirky kids that puts together outrageous outfits and gets away with them, or if it's just a 2-year-old thing that will develop into having even more opinions about more topics. Either way, I don't mind. She's so proud of those boots, and is precious the way she runs around outside in them.
